History of the laboratory:

Has been operating at the Plant Protection Institute since 2004 (from 2004 to 2008 as a sector). From 2004 to 2015, the scientific director of research works is Dr. S.-G. Sciences, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Sciences O.O. Sozinov, since 2016 - N.O. Hearth

Purpose and tasks.

Purpose: Application of molecular genetic markers to solve problems of plant protection.

Main tasks:

identification of genes for resistance to diseases and pests of agricultural plants using molecular genetic markers;

identification of phytopathogens, including quarantine ones, using molecular genetic markers.

Areas of activity:

analysis of collection and selection material of wheat using molecular genetic markers, identification of genes for resistance to pathogens and other economically important genes;

identification and research of wheat varieties and lines with foreign translocations using molecular genetic markers, in particular, research of wheat-rye translocations involving the 1RS arm;

study of the diversity of wheat and its wild and cultivated relatives by loci of spare proteins;

creation of wheat source material with disease and pest resistance genes for selection;

identification of phytopathogens, including nematodes using DNA markers.
