Evaluation of the degree of resistance of agricultural crops against harmful organisms;

Scientific support for the use of protection means, taking into account the saturation of agrocenoses with useful biological agents;

Provision of recommendations on the use of biological means for the protection of vegetable crops in open and closed soil;

Provision of production biolaboratories and laboratories at greenhouse plants with strains of microorganisms for the production of biological preparations (to protect agricultural crops from pests, diseases and phytoparasitic nematodes);

Technology of low-tonnage production of microbiological preparations to protect agricultural crops from pests and diseases;

Implementation of the technology to protect cabbage from pests with the predominant use of biological means;

The institute publishes the interdepartmental thematic collection "Plant Protection and Quarantine", the journal "Quarantine and Plant Protection" and the Ukrainian Entomological Journal.
