History of the laboratory: The history of the laboratory of the microbiological method of plant protection is closely related to the name of the outstanding entomologist M.A. Telenga, who was the first to draw attention to the importance of natural entomopathogens in limiting the number of harmful insects. In these studies, he involves his students and colleagues who previously worked in the field of taxonomy, ecology and the use of entomophages - M.P. Uncle, G.N. Zhigaeva, V.G. Rogochu, T.O. Primak, A.Y. Sikuru, microbiologist N.V. Lappu and technologist of microbiological production V.M. Goral It was on this basis that in 1957 the department of microbiological methods of plant protection was created, which was headed by M.A. Teleng. From 1971, for thirty years, the laboratory was headed by N.V. Lappa, and from 2002 to the present, Dr. S.-G. Sciences Tkalenko H.M.

The main areas of work of the laboratory:

Isolation and selection of existing collection and new microorganisms, research of properties and creation of biological preparations based on them with a wide spectrum of action against pests and diseases.

Development of deep, surface and deep-surface technologies for the production of microbiological preparations.

Development of technologies for protection of agricultural crops from harmful organisms with the complex use of microbiological preparations and other means (growth regulators, pesticides) and introduction into production.

Practical developments:

technologies (deep, surface, deep-surface) production of microbial preparations - Boverin-GL, Pecilomin, Verticillin-K, Trichodermin-K, Ashersonia;

the use of microbiological preparations with other means in crop protection systems, taking into account the physiological state of pests;

technology of complex application of entomophages and microorganisms against pests of fruit and vegetable crops;

an integrated system of protection of cucumbers and tomatoes from harmful organisms in closed soil with the predominant use of biological means;

new strains of fungal entomopathogens, antagonistic fungi and nematophagous fungi;

methods of using fungal and bacterial preparations and their mixtures against diseases of vegetable crops in open and closed soil.

Job prospects:

creation of new biological preparations against phytophages, phytopathogens and phytoparasitic nematodes;

development of technological regulations for the production of new preparative forms of microbiological plant protection agents;

establishment and implementation of regional low-tonnage production of biological preparations;

development of methods of effective use of entomopathogenic organisms in modern crop protection systems

Provision of services:

carrying out phytopathogenic analysis of plant samples and determining seed quality indicators (similarity, germination energy);

recommendations on the use of biological means for the protection of vegetable crops in open and closed soil;

monitoring of the phytosanitary state of agrocenoses and agricultural crops;

strains of microorganisms for the production of biological preparations to protect crops from pests and diseases;

establishment and implementation of the technology of low-tonnage and ecologically safe production of microbiological preparations for the protection of agricultural crops from pathogens and pests;

ecologically safe technologies for protecting agricultural crops from harmful organisms during organic cultivation.
