Results of the international scientific conference "Optimization of land as the main component of their effective use - scientific achievements for 100 years of activity of the National Academy of Sciences and future prospects"

On October 10, 2018, the National Science Center "Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences" hosted the International Scientific Conference "Optimization of land as the main component of their effective use - scientific achievements over 100 years of activity of the National Academy of Sciences and future prospects."

The President of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, Academician Yaroslav Mykhailovych Gadzalo addressed the participants of the conference with a welcome speech.

The work of the conference was carried out in the following thematic areas:

• conservation and effective use of agricultural landscapes;
• reproduction of soil fertility;
• modern farming systems and technologies for growing agricultural crops;
• innovations in the field of agriculture and crop production.

Conference participants analyzed scientific achievements in the context of 100-year activity of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and outlined problematic aspects of land use taking into account social, political, economic, energy and ecological realities of today. The issue of optimizing the structure of agrolandscapes, theoretical forecasting of the main properties of soils and reproduction of their fertility, rational fertilization of agricultural crops was considered, ways of stabilizing land use were proposed, and priority directions for the development of the agricultural sector were determined for the formation of food security of the state.
