As part of the PROGRESS project "Preparation of the countries of the Eastern Partnership for the European Green Course", the head of the phytopathology laboratory of the Institute of Plant Protection of the National Academy of Sciences, Oksana Afanasyeva, took part in the educational tour: "Green horizons: research on the potential of H2 and decarbonized value chains" to the Federal Republic of Germany from May 2 to 10, 2026.
The project "H2-diplo - Diplomacy of decarbonization" is implemented by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany with the financial support of the International Climate Initiative (Internationale Klimaschutzinitiative, IKI).
The purpose of the visit is devoted to the topic of green hydrogen, green ammonia and decarbonized value chains.
The main goal of the study trip is to acquaint the representatives of the industrial sectors of Ukraine with practical examples of the use of "green" hydrogen in Germany.
By the end of the study trip, the participants gained practical knowledge about "green" ammonia, "green" hydrogen and innovative technologies and areas of application of PtX. We identified potential opportunities for cooperation with German partners. Gained a deeper understanding of the strategic prospects for the development of the "green" hydrogen sector. They deepened their knowledge about the world's best practices in the field of decarbonization.
