On May 12, 2026, the Institute of Plant Protection of the National Academy of Sciences hosted a kick-off online meeting dedicated to the implementation of the project "Training farmers on integrated plant protection under climate change" within the framework of the wider PROGRESS project "Preparation of Eastern Partnership countries for the European Green Course". During the event, participants discussed current challenges for the agricultural sector related to climate change, as well as modern approaches to integrated plant protection and support to farmers through a system of educational trainings and demonstration projects.
During the meeting, representatives of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the Institute of Plant Protection of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the international project PROGRESS (GIZ) spoke with welcoming remarks.
More than 70 participants registered to participate in this online event, including representatives of scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, farms, representatives of business, financial institutions, associations and other organizations, which in turn testifies to the high interest and relevance of this topic in today's conditions.
Participation in such initiatives contributes to the development of inter-institutional cooperation, the implementation of modern ecologically safe approaches in agriculture and the increase of the resistance of agricultural production to climate changes.
