A study published in Journal of Pest Science examined how elevated temperatures affect Scaphoideus titanus, the vector of Flavescence dorée phytoplasma. Three complementary experiments assessed nymphal development under fluctuating thermal regimes and adult mortality under short-term heat exposures. Warming was found to accelerate development but simultaneously increase mortality, with females showing greater thermal tolerance than males.
